Sportin' Waves Review

Sportin' Waves Review

Been waiting to grab a can of this stuff for awhile now.  Seems like they sell it everywhere, grocery stores, Target, the liquor store, all beauty supplies, I'm surprised I haven't seen it at a gas station yet.  I've used it's big brother the gold can/max hold before and I like that a lot, so figured this would be good too.

Getting into it, there's a fresh clean smell to it, nothing too strong or remarkable.  The product itself looks like a matte cream til you break the top layer.

Scoops out soft and ready to go.  A Little bit creamy, makes me think if you mixed the max hold waves with some 360 wave control..  Not too creamy though so don't worry about losing power.  It went in my hair super easy, no tugs or pulls, combed it right through for an even coat.  Styled nice too, no problems there except I had to mess with the back a bit to get it laying right.  Once everything was straight though, it held good.  The can says Strong Holding Power!  I wouldn't say it was that strong, but definitely did its job and is easy to work with later if you need to re comb.

Hit it with a bristle brush here, made it look nice ha, should've tucked in the sides though

Didn't give me too shiny of a finish if that's your thing, but I'd bet with darker hair it would have a little more sheen.

I think this stuff will be great in the summer time when looking for heavy wax/grease alternatives when the temperature goes up and everything starts to melt.  They call it a gel pomade but it makes me think more of a slightly waxy cream.  Slicked the sides back nicely, held good, re combs easy and washes out almost completely just hitting it with water the next day.  Pretty good I'd say for $2.50, go for it.
